Improvement Schedule

The opening of the Bubble Pool has been delayed until further notice due to construction delays. The Indoor Recreation Pool and Hot Tub will remain open until further updates are provided regarding the renovation schedule.

Once the Bubble Pool opens, aquatic programming will temporarily move there while the Indoor Recreation Pool and Hot Tub undergo approximately 6–8 weeks of needed renovations and improvements.

After the Indoor Recreation Pool reopens, the Bubble Pool will temporarily close for new boiler and heat exchanger installations serving the Bubble, Dive Tank, and 50-Meter Pool.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to maintain and improve our aquatic facilities and provide an even better experience for our community. We will share updates as more information becomes available.

What to Expect

Throughout the project, aquatic programming will shift between the Indoor Recreation Pool and the Bubble to accommodate construction, repairs, and maintenance.

Indoor Recreation Pool

• Programming will continue in the Indoor Recreation Pool during the initial stages of the project.
• The Indoor Recreation Pool will temporarily close for repairs and maintenance.
• During this closure, programming will shift to the Bubble.

Bubble

• The Bubble will undergo installation and construction work.
• While the Bubble is being prepared, programming will remain in the Indoor Recreation Pool.
• Once the Bubble is ready, programming will shift to the Bubble while work continues in the Indoor Recreation Pool.

General Project Timeline

September | Preparation & Outdoor Pool Work
Work begins around the outdoor pool areas while aquatic programming continues in the Indoor Recreation Pool.

Early Fall | Bubble Installation
The Bubble is installed and prepared for seasonal use. Programming will continue in the Indoor Recreation Pool during this phase.

Fall | Indoor Recreation Pool Maintenance
The Indoor Recreation Pool will temporarily close for repairs and maintenance. During this time, programming will shift to the Bubble.

Late Fall | Equipment & System Improvements
Additional work will take place on heating and mechanical systems. The length of this phase may vary depending on equipment availability and installation needs.

Winter | Project Completion
The Bubble and Indoor Recreation Pool are expected to return to normal operations once construction, repairs, and system improvements are complete.

These projects are part of ongoing efforts to maintain our aquatic facilities and make needed improvements. While the work may result in temporary changes to programming and facility access, these improvements are important to the continued operation of our pools.

Oquirrh Recreation and Parks District has a proposed project that is part of the Salt Lake County Recreation General Obligation Bond.

What is the project?

• Expand the Outdoor Rec/Bubble pool.

• Add warm-water lap lanes.

• Increase swim lesson capacity.

• Expand opportunities for water fitness.

• Reduce overcrowding.

• Increase lap lane availability.

• Strengthen adaptive aquatic programming.

• Improve the District’s ability to train lifeguards.

• Improve lifeguard visibility.

• Enhance year-round aquatic access for residents throughout west Salt Lake County and beyond.
