Using the Climbing Wall
- The Grasshopper Climbing Wall uses an app connected via Bluetooth to set up routes
- Follow the LED lights on each hold for specific “problem” or route
- Some routes may require you to match holds (use both hands on the same hold) or explicitly prohibit it, so read the route’s description
- Any adjustments to the wall will be done by the Welcome Desk Staff.
- No devices that produce audible sound may be used
Downloading and using the App
- Go to the app store and download Grasshopper Board by Aurora Climbing Inc
- Enter a user name, password, and email. Click " Create a new account"
- Allow Grasshopper to use your location so they can find our facility. Once the map opens, click on any red circle.
- Click on All Climbs
- Click on any climb (beginner climbs are V0)
- Click the light bulb at the top to connect to Bluetooth. Once you are connected, it will turn blue. (You will need to allow Bluetooth so you can change the routes.)
General Policies
- Participants assume the risks and responsibilities of all activities.
- Anyone wishing to climb MUST complete a one-time safety test for the climbing wall before their first climb. If you do not have a way to take the test online, go to the Welcome Desk.
- Once you have taken the test, you will show your results to the Welcome Desk, and a note will be put on your account so you can receive a wristband.
- You must wear your non-transferable climbing wristband & it must be VISIBLE AT ALL TIMES whenever you climb. It will be given out at the Welcome Desk.
- Immediately report unsafe climbing practices to the welcome desk.
- Children ages 9 years & under must be actively supervised by an adult. An adult assumes liability by taking a test for a child.
